What our guides are, what they are not, and how to use them safely in your own kitchen.

Last updated October 2, 2026

In plain words

  • Our guides are for general information. They are not professional, medical, or electrical advice.
  • Everything is based on research: manufacturer specs, documentation, and verified owner reviews. We do not run hands-on tests.
  • Specs and prices change. Always check the product page and manual before you buy or use a product.
  • Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions for your own machine.

General information only

The content on Prep Brook, including buying guides, how-to guides, explainers, and care tips, is for general information. It is not professional advice of any kind. Use your own judgment, and talk to a qualified expert when your situation needs one.

How our content is made

Prep Brook is a research-based publication. Our guides are built from:

  • Manufacturer specifications and product listings
  • Owner manuals, care guides, and other published documentation
  • Patterns in verified owner reviews and buyer feedback

We do not run hands-on or lab testing of the products we cover, and we do not claim to. Our scores and rankings reflect how well a product’s published features and owner-reported results match a buyer’s needs.

Accuracy and updates

We work hard to keep details correct, but brands update products, change specs, and rename models without notice. Some information may be out of date by the time you read it. Always confirm capacity, voltage, materials, and warranty on the product page or in the manual before you buy. Spotted an error? Email hello@prepbrook.com and we will check it and fix it.

Kitchen and appliance safety

Drink-prep tools involve sharp blades, hot liquids, and electricity. Please treat them with care:

  • Unplug blenders, juicers, and milk makers before you clean, assemble, or touch the blades.
  • Be careful with hot liquids in a blender. Fill the jar no more than the manual allows, vent the lid, and start on low speed.
  • Check the voltage before you buy. Some machines sold online are 220 to 240 volt models that do not suit standard US 120 volt outlets.
  • Use glass tumblers for hot drinks only if they are borosilicate or labeled heat safe.

If our tips ever differ from your product’s manual, follow the manual.

Food, diet, and health

Homemade juices, smoothies, and plant milks are fresh foods with no preservatives. Keep them in the fridge and drink them within a few days. Soy milk must be fully cooked before drinking, which is why dedicated soy programs heat the milk.

Nothing on Prep Brook is medical or nutrition advice. If you have a food allergy, a medical condition, or special dietary needs, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your diet.
